We see this very large family of deer and many other wildlife (like bear) roaming our yard frequently. This morning I got up and looked out our window and saw something laying down and I called the kids over to look. It was a deer and I thought it was hurt. I had never seen the deer lay down. My son wanted to go out and check on it, so he just decided to sing to it instead. Well, the deer eventually got up and wandered away back into the woods and we continued on with our morning.
My second story is about the date my husband and I got to have today. He is a pastor and had 3 lessons to prepare (S.S., morning worship, and January Bile study all this morning). Just yesterday I received a phone call from a friend of ours saying that she would be in the area and she wanted to babysit for us so that my husband and I could go out on a real date. Her mom has 11 children, so she understands the importance of parents having a date. Since we already own cross-country skiis, we decided to go skiing. It was fun. We loved every minute and are so thankful for Anna. This was our first date without children in at least 4 years. We counted it as our anniversary gift. On the 15th, we will have been married for 14 wonderful years.

Thank you for your prayers for my pastor.
Your son was so sweet to sing to the deer!
Mrs. Speedy,
I was honored to get to spend time with your family today. Thanks for the post: it was so encouraging and I'm really happy that I got to help out! Oh, and happy anniversary a little early!
~Anna
Happy Anniversary! I am so thankful you were able to go out on a date. It was rare for us, too, when the kids are little.
